Kate Brain
Receptionist
Kate joined us in April 2024 having previously worked within the NHS. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and socialising with friends. Her hobbies include walking, reading, crafts and cooking.
Laura Tegg
Receptionist
Laura loves animals and has always wanted a career working with them. She graduated from Hartpury University in November 2023 after completing an animal behaviour and welfare degree course. She wants to continue developing her knowledge and training so she can train animals and care for rescue cases. I currently own two dogs and two guinea pigs. In my spare time I enjoy dog walks, reading and watching my guinea pigs run around the garden.

Sophie Butcher
Receptionist
Sophie has been a receptionist at The Brambles for 2 years now. She enjoys greeting all the pets that come in, and their owners! Her hobbies include spending time with my family; husband, teenage daughter and my two fur babies, Zelda the staffie and Lyla the Lurcher. She enjoys walking the pooches and enjoys a trip to the cinema. And I love to curl up on the sofa with a good book with my fur babies!

I have worked in the animal care industry for several years now, and thoroughly enjoy working as a veterinary receptionist. Having a dog and cat myself, I aim to provide a welcoming environment for all pets and their owners.

Amber Mansell
Nurse
Amber is a Registered Veterinary Nurse who joined us in February 2024. Amber has an interest in nurse clinics and weight management. She runs weight clinics from our Churchdown branch. Amber is also a ‘Suitably Qualified Person’ so can prescribe and advise on several flea and worm treatments. When not at work, Amber can be found running, baking or playing video games with her partner.
Kaylee Newman
Nurse
Kaylee has been with the practice since qualifying in 2016. She enjoys theatre work and is responsible for maintaining the in-house lab equipment. Her spare time is spent on her parents’ smallholding where she helps look after sheep, horses and chickens.
Emily Taylor
Head Nurse
Emily qualified as an RVN from Hartpury university in 2023 and has worked at the practice since qualifying. She has a keen interest in developing her skills in all areas of the role with a particular interest in feline nursing as well as inpatient care. Outside of work she spends most of her time trying to keep her Cocker Spaniel Jasper out of mischief.

Annie Davis
Vet
Annie qualified from Nottingham vet school in 2022 and has been with us ever since and enjoys all aspects of the job. She spends her free time looking after her 3 crazy cocker spaniels and trying not to fall off her horses (often with limited success!).
Bel Beneytez
Vet
Bel joined the practice in December 2017 and enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine. Her particular passion is for sharing her great knowledge on the use of alternative therapies such as acupuncture and herbal medicine (including Chinese herbs).
Stella Buettner
Vet
Stella qualified as a veterinary surgeon in Germany in 1996. She came to England in 1998 and has worked in small animal practice ever since. She has a keen in interest in both cats and ophthalmology. In her spare time, she likes to go swimming and bird watching.
Esther Barrett
Visiting Specialist
RCVS and European Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging
Esther graduated from Cambridge Vet School in 1997. After six years in mixed practice, she took up a residency in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging at Bristol Vet School, obtaining the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and European College Diplomas in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging in 2006.
Esther spent three more years working at Bristol and Liverpool Vet Schools before setting up a freelance veterinary imaging service in South Wales and the West Country.
She regularly attends the practice to provide specialist ultrasonography.

Julie Powell
Nurse
Julie has been a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse for over 25 years. After having a few years break to start a family, Julie came to The Brambles and has been here ever since. In her spare time, she enjoys dancing and aerial hoop as well as looking after Daisy, the family Miniature Schnauzer and Dennis, both of whom she has acquired from the practice.

Rachel Gaffin
vet
Rachel joined the practice after qualifying from Bristol Vet School. She has a particular interest in long term pain management and hin her spare time enjoys training with her GSD.
Kim Hawley
Nurse
Kim started with us as a trainee in 2009, qualifying in 2011. She has a keen interest in dog training and behaviour and is an instructor with The Happy Dog Training Co. She runs our puppy parties at Churchdown on a Monday evening, providing invaluable socialisation for the puppies and hints and tips for the owners.
Amy Underdown
Nurse
Amy qualified in 2006 and has worked at the practice since 2009. She has an active interest in rabbit and exotic medicine and has been studying extensively in this area. She runs regular rabbit health clinics at the practice alongside the regular nurse clinics.
Ellen Lindsay
Nurse
Ellen is a nurse who originally joined the practice in 2005 and has undertaken her training here. Since qualifying, she has developed her skills in all areas of the practice and now is actively involved with both the inpatient care and the nurse clinics. She also enjoys scrubbing into theatre with the veterinary surgeon. She has a cat called Eliza and a puppy Tibetan Terrier called Rosie.
Keren Hawkins
Receptionis
Keren recently joined Brambles as a receptionist. She has a dog, Pixie, who is a 10 year old Miniature Pinscher. They have done dog agility together and entered a few competitions in the past in Beginners Steeplechase.
She also enjoys running.
Paul Ensor
Vet
Paul joined the practice in 2014. He is experienced in all aspects of medicine and surgery but has a particular interest in ultrasonography.
Neil Savill
Vet
Neil qualified in 1992 from The Royal Veterinary College, London. A short spell in mixed practice in Devon was followed by four years in a busy small animal practice in south London. Here, he gained extensive experience in all types of practice, particularly surgery. He was also one of the vets responsible for Catford greyhound stadium. He moved to Churchdown in August 1996 and became a partner in 1998. With Ivor’s retirement in 2001, he became the sole owner of the practice.
Inside work, he enjoys all aspects of the job and he has a keen interest in surgery, both soft tissue and orthopaedics. Outside of work, he enjoys looking after the family’s extensive range of horses, chickens, sheep, dogs and cats. A lot of his spare time is spent being an unpaid groom/ driver at horse competitions for his daughters
